New contract not allowed
I cancelled my contract with Vodacom in Jan 2015. The last payment was going to be deducted on 28 Feb 2015 (which it was). The consultant who assisted me to cancel the contract did not inform me that once the contract is cancelled, I wont be allowed to take a new contract until 6 months have passed since the contract has been cancelled. I called Vodacom on Friday, 6 March, spoke to a consultant who was very cold, by the way. I enquired about taking a data contract, only to find out I cannot do it. I have to be on prepaid for 6 months. I was never informed about this previously. When I ask what the reason was for the wait, she informed me that its 'a cooling off period'. Cooling off period for 6 months ??? <br> So Vodacom are willing to lose clients to there competition, and this because of 6 months of cooling off? I haven't had much issues with Vodacom, but this kind of thing forces one to make use of a different service provider. And yes, it might sound petty, but id rather make use of a new provider, than to have to buy prepaid data all the time. Like the consultant said to me on the phone \its a pity". The service is pathetic."""
