New Contract - Data Sim Card LTE and Billing Error

I signed up for a my10Gig data contract on 23 July. After being told by the sales consultant in the vodacom shop that I did not have to phone into the call centre to have the line activated on the LTE network, I phoned in anyway due to my previous experience when I signed up for my other data contract (my2Gig). The call centre agent informed me that she had activated the my10Gig sim onto the LTE network but it could take 24 hours to update. Two days later I phoned into the call centre again as the sim card still did not want to connect to the LTE network. Once again the call centre agent tried to activate the sim on the LTE network. This process continued for a third time with no success, afterwards upon phoning the call centre for the 4th time the matter was escalated to the technical department. The agent informed me that feedback would be given within 48 hours (this was 26 July).

The following reference number was provided (1- ********** 4908). Hereafter I tried phoning the call centre a few times to get feedback as nobody contacted me, I was redirected to a number of different departments all of which could not provide me with any feedback, I was even redirected to the Internal Vodacom IT helpdesk which obviously did not have clue what I was talking about. By Tuesday (2 Aug) a new reference number was provided when I phoned into the call centre again (1- ********** 7404). Relentlessly I kept phoning the call centre, trying to get some feedback on the matter, but to no avail.

I then received a sms from vodacom stating that my account was in arrears with R183, which I initially thought was a mistake as my account is billed through a debit order - so if there are any billing issues, it likely is a result of vodacom not collecting sufficient funds. I then contacted the call centre who couldn't understand why my account would be in arrears, they directed my call to the accounts department. Eventually I confirmed with the accounts department that they had somehow missed the monthly billing cycle for my debit order and that the R183 was due to a pro-rata billing for the new my10Gig. After the discussing the matter with the accounts department, the lady said that they could either add the amount to the next debit order cycle for end of August, or I could EFT the money to their account. She confirmed that my account would not be locked either which way. I insisted that I would rather pay the outstanding balance directly at a vodacom shop in order to ensure the account would not be locked and I anyway just wanted the matter resolved as the multiple messages from vodacom regarding my "arrears" account started to annoy me.

Whilst I was paying the money at the vodacom shop today, I took the time to try and get feedback on my LTE queries from two different vodacom shops, both of which were unable to assist me and redirected me to the infamous call centre.

I then tried phoning again this afternoon with some glimmer of hope that I would get in touch with someone who could actually help, only to be told by the call centre agent that she is unable to even open my account on her system due to it being locked. She once again told me to contact the accounts department to have the lock lifted - only to find out that they had already closed and would only open again on monday (8 Aug).

For years I have been a devoted customer of vodacom and would frequently recommend the service provider to anyone. But after experiencing the above mentioned, I find myself with a decision to rather close my 3 accounts and take my business elsewhere.

Please advise urgently on the status of my query and sort out my account.

Sincerely

Mac Smith

Dear Vodacom,
Honestly, a week has gone by without any communication regarding this matter.
I don't know what happened to your customer service department, but apparently you clearly don't care about your customers anymore.
Sincerely
Mac
