NEVER USE VODACOM ONLINE UPGRADE SERVICES - SHOCKING SERVICE
I shouldn't even be placing 1 star for the shocking and inconsistent service I have received from Vodacom., but I can't find a zero rating. As a loyal customer since 2011, I spend a fortune every month with this service provider. After being prompted to upgrade with countless messages - I did. Only to find out that the product available on the website - was not in stock - but only after I followed the full process and committed to the contract. I then received an SMS later saying the product is not in stock. This was in Dec 2020. I had zero contact after to confirm when the product would be available. I had to phone many, many, many times - each agent promising to call back or get a senior person to call back. No joy. I had to continuously call to find out what was happening. I received different information from service agents also. One of the agents even said I should cancel that promotion and take another one to get my device faster - absolutely priceless especially since the that promotion would land up costing more for less. Other agents kept blaming Apple or the warehouse. One agent told me that there was a mix up with the December orders and that those phones were issues to other customers who placed orders after me, hence the back-log. When the product finally arrived to Vodacom four months later, delivery is now an issue as I do not have an ID book currently (in process of applying for replacement which has been challenging with lockdown restrictions). They refuse to accept my drivers license as a form of ID (and my passport, which I have also reapply for has expired). I have been trying to get a solution with Vodacom to find a means to a way - still no response. I even have a sworn affidavit from SAPS to say I am applying for ID. I have sent emails and copies of documents - still nothing. The courier company was then instructed by Vodacom to send parcel back after only one delivery attempt (supposed to happen after two attempts). Still no contact from Vodacom. (I suspect that they want to deploy the much in demand device to another customer?) Apparently Vodacom is very worried about ***** this is why it must be an ID book or card? Yet, I can use my drivers to get on a plane, buy a car and get bank cards? What on earth is going on? I have had better customer service and assistance from the courier company. Oh and to make matters worse, someone entered the wrong house number for delivery, which apparently takes 48 HOURS TO FIX !!!!!!!! Absolute disgrace Vodacom! Where is your management? Why do you not get back to your customers? Remember that every customer you lose, means your business will shrink. Don't think because you are a big company that you will stay relevant. You are losing business and I will be taking my business elsewhere if I do not have my device, that I have been waiting four months for, by the end of the week. Never ever upgrade online at Vodacom. You have wasted so much of my time and you clearly do not care about your customers or empower your employees to make decisions.
