Never trust a company who sell products over the phone

Vodacom contacted me via telephone to sell a better / faster / cheaper mobile router than the one I already have. I accepted the new product, just to to find out that my current contract was not "upgraded", but can only be cancelled in Feb. 2018. Why would I take out a new contract (to save money on data), and still have 2 contracts? I see this as a hoax! I also discovered that Vodacom can not be contacted via e-mail to lodge complaints. I have to contact them on 111, just to hear that they apologise for the miss understanding and inconvenience.
