Never take a deal over the phone. They care more about a supposed sale than the customer
Never take a deal over the phone.
I got a call from vodacom that I was due for an upgrade and I stated that I wanted to just continue on with this contract until I was ready to take another. She said that's fine and stated a fee per month and said many times that they needed to send me the terms and conditions. That made no sense to me and I needed to change my delivery address but didn't have time to do it and told her to call me back. ( I'm pretty sure on the recording I sound very confused and unsure) She never did. And she just put through the change without calling me back like I asked because I didn't have time to talk to her then. But she supposedly made her sale so who cares about the customer?
They then proceed to try to deliver it at the wrong address. I had to keep calling to cancel delivery and change my address. They kept sending me to the next person and never actually changing my address as they said they would need to call me back and never did. This happened twice.
Someone finally calls me to get the new address and then they deliver two Microsoft office CDs. I did not ask for this. This was the Friday.
The same day I go to the vodacom shop and they can't help me to cancel it. I call a number they suggest and cancel it. But when I go back the next day its still not cancelled and customer service gives me a number that isn't working on the weekends and he tells me he can't help me and I need to wait for Monday but I can't talk to his supervisor. I tell him this is ridiculous and I've been using up all my airtime for the past two weeks and people keep sending me around and he thanks me sarcastically for being calm about this. Great. Thanks man.
Basically. Never make a deal over the phone (even though my deal wasn't finalized). Rather go to the shop where they treat you like a human being.
I have to waste my time and money again on Monday trying to sort this out. And the worst is that I actually want to remain a customer but they are seriously making me reconsider.
