NEVER port in to the Vodacom network.

I went to the vodacom store at Campus Square to port-in from an FNB mobile Sim. Unfortunately, the device that I had was network locked and I had to borrow a device to do the port-out. Jay who helped me gave me his watsapp number and said he would help while I go home and borrow a device. He said he was busy with other customers when I called and had to return to the branch. Once I got there, they assured me that the port-in was complete and the FNB sim card would stop working 24 hours later. I spoke to Jay again on Watsapp and he said I should call FNB to release the number, once that was done I watsapped him again to follow up and say that the number was released by FNB he flat out ignored me. And the port-in was still not done. After numerous subsequent visits to the store and a different store as well. Vodacom has sent me from pillar to post and shrugged off responsibility to FNB and did follow up and even flat out ignored me when I explained that I needed the number ported to Vodacom as all my banking details were linked to this number. Eventually I gave up and took a different number with a different network. I will never advise anybody to port-in to the vodacom network and especially I will advise people to never go to the branch at campus square, Jay is rude and very unhelpful.
