Never again.

THE WORST UPGRADE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER AND WILL EVER HAVE IN MY LIFE. I have never been SO INFURIATED with a service that I needed to give feedback in all caps. Your online upgrade facility should be there to make life easier for customers. Instead it has made me want to throw this new phone against a wall.

Timeline of infuriating events: - Vodacom agent calls me to take delivery address and formalise upgrade. Asks about insurance and I confirm I DO NOT want it. All good. - I receive an SMS a few days later stating how the insurance for my new device will be automatically added. WHAT? - I receive another SMS from the courier saying my package will be delivered that day... to a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT address I gave the Vodacom agent (who assured me it would NOT go to that address). - I phone the courier company and explain the problem. They tell me they'll get the correct address from Vodacom. - Later that day I get a phone call from the courier to say he is outside THE WRONG ADDRESS for delivery. I give him the correct address and he says he will deliver the following day. - The next day I receive another SMS from the courier to say my package is out for delivery.. AGAIN to the wrong address. - I phone Vodacom and spend 40 minutes being redirected around to different departments, being hung up on, being told to phone other numbers, being redirected BACK to the same departments as before, being told "I can't do anything, I'm sending you to X department" and X tells me the same. I am almost in tears when I finally get help with the insurance problem and with the delivery address. An insane waste of time. - Package gets to me (miracle!) and the courier argues with me about my VALID RICA DOCUMENTS (which have been successfully used to RICA another device and sim and are my ONLY possible source of RICA documents), saying Vodacom will not accept them. What on earth. After not getting through to him (he is apparently more clued-up on acceptable documents than those responsible for RICA'ing my other device) he eventually had me go and print another previous proof of address to take with him.

I have my device now but I want to scream and throw it against the wall more than anything. This contract can end and I never want to have anything to do with this company ever again.

Thank you for calling to apologise and offer an alternate source of help the next time I have trouble - I didn't expect that at all and am impressed and grateful. At the end of the day, I have my device and the stress of the earlier experience has faded. Thanks for making a customer feel heard and important.
