Whilst having a vodacom contract I was able to use any network sim on my phone...strange enough once my contract was over I am unable to use any other network sim except a vodacom sim. Having called vodacom customer care I was advised that there is a lock and I should go to a vodacom store to remove this lock as it does not take much time. Having past history with the service at vodacom stores I called the vodacom branch in gateway to enquire if there were any additional information/ documentation they would require to remove this lock. The guy I spoke to responded to my enquiry of "removing a network lock" as if I was speaking french and said that I may have a software issue which would require me to book a technician...of which I will be charged. I fail to believe that strangely after 2 years the phone now has a software problem, and neither am I willing to pay to remove a lock on a phone which i've spent the last 2 years paying off TO OWN!

Best regards,
I received an email from Lesley Abels who advised me to visit a vodacom repair centre, having driven all the way to the repair centre the technician with much arrogance refuses to accept my query and book my phone in for an assessment. Instead he expects me to bring along all the simcards i've used on the phone to test...most ridiculous customer service i've ever experienced in my life
