Network Connectivity backup power
Dear Vodacom, You have known for years that Eskom is a problem. It is not good enough to apologise for no connectivity whether it is Stage 1 or Stage 4. Our country with its high crime rate cannot afford to have helpless citizens that cannot contact emergency services and/or a family member/friend in case of emergency. Please upgrade your backup power at your base stations to ensure at least a 4-6 hour connectivity. Eskom as you know is only going to get worse before it 'might' get better. I am still a loyal customer and have been for many many years but put yourselves even higher than your competitors and improve backup power at every base station. kind regards Ingrid

Vodacom is aware that many customers around the country will be experiencing issues connecting to the network because of the Stage 4 Loadshedding that is currently in place. Our towers do use batteries as a back up but these do have limited power and will eventually fail. We have put proactive measures in place to help mitigate the effects of widespread loadshedding. For instance, we have deployed generators at numerous sites across the country and are working as hard as possible to keep customers connected. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience - normal service will resume once loadshedding runs its course.
