NEGOTIACANCELLATION OF ROOTER NO *** / A J VAN DER MERWE ID *** 089 :

The abovementioned rooter was in the use of Late Estelle Jacoba van der Merwe who died on 29 January 2021 / ID *** 085

The Late Estelle Jacoba van der Merwe was my former wife whom I had divorced on 20 November 2015. What had led to the reason that this contract was entered into my name, I cannot recall. Most probably it was as a gesture of goodwill.

Fact of the matter is that at this point in time I can no longer afford to keep up this contract. In any event the rooter is no longer in use. I am a pensioner and live from a small pension. The Late Mrs van der Merwe had died as a result of cancer over a period of 2 years. I am still battling to recover from the extreme medical expenses.

In an attempt to have this contract cancelled me Lida Genis (family member) made telephonically contact with your office with my cellphone *** and every consultant ask to speak to me also asking a question or two.

It is very sad to say that all the efforts were fruitless and was filled with various undertakings made by staff members.

Here follows a summary of the attempts :-

23 September 2021 : 13:00 / a conversation with Mr Selby. The position was explained to him. Mr Selby undertook to have a upgrade/reversal and when this is done he must be contacted again on 29 September 2021 at *** (Selby’s office). After the upgrade reversal on Wednesday 29 September 2021 Mr Selby indicated that the rooter will be cancelled. He re-assurred me Genis that there is no need to worry.

29 September 2021 : 14:45 / me Genis phoned Mr Selby’s office. At that time Mr Shaun Komani entertained this call and undertook to sent an e-mail to Mr Selby to phone her back. This did not happen.

30 September 2021 another call was made and spoke to consultant Imfana Lamini, same promises/ fruitless

4 October 2021 / spoke to Consultant Veron / same promises / fruitless

10 October 2021 / spoke to Pamela / Tobie / same promises / fruitless

In spite of all the undertakings none had materialized.

In a following attempt to *** an answering machine informed that my cell no *** had been blocked.

I reached the end of the road. All in all there is no hope to have this matter resolved.

This leave me with no other option approach the Consumer Council for assistance.

I had also cancelled the debit order at Absa Bank on 28 October 2021. In spite of all of this, your Company have the audacity to tender the debit order on 8 November 2021 in the amount of R310.88 / On 7 October 2021 the debit order for R105.00 went through my account. I need an explanation for the debit order for R310.88

There is no amount in arrear .

I ask for your assistance but in return I am treated with no respect. This can lead to very negative publicity for your company. ( I AM WITH VODACOM SINCE 1997)

I am an elderly and our President always remind the people to look at the elderly, the pensioners.

A J VAN DER MERWE / ***
