Need a sim swop

Okay so last Friday morning I was highjacked and my phone was ****** so my dad decided that I could borrow his old phone for the next 3 weeks until payday where I can go ahead and buy me my own phone. So today I decided to go buy a Micro Sim because that phone requires a Micro sim. I get there and they sell me a sim for R20, they asked me if it was prepaid or contract, I tell them prepaid, I just need the sim then I can call Vodacom and they can do the swop. So I get home this after a extremely long day at work and speak to 2 agents who cannot find the sim card number on the system. They both tell me to insert the sim card into the phone and to call them after the sim has been placed inside of the phone. I do that. I get a message saying put my number in and a OTP will be sent to me. Still waiting on the OTP. After about 5 mins of waiting I try and call vodacom with the sim but the only thing it says is emergency calls only and no way to contact vodacom from the phone the sim is in. Then I call again and you still cannot help me out. and tell me that I need to go buy another sim card. So now I must go spend more money driving around to go buy a sim and on top of that spend more money to buy another sim card.

You know what irrates me the most about the situation is that when I called Vodacom I had to go through the IRV systems and had to put my number in 5 times before being directed to the correct department, like *** is that all about then the agent still asks me to put the sim in again.

OmG what p'd me off about this was the 3rd lady I spoke to, I told her to transfer me to someone that could help with the issue, She prop just thought that she could put me back in th queue cos the call went straight back to her becasue she was first in the queue. Then she prob transfered me to her collegue instead of her superviors.

So all in all I have spend time and money dealing with this issue as a long time vodacom user I would have thought you would take care of your customers, however you don't. Anyways I will get my phone number back and once I do I expect that someone will call me apologizing for this **** service that I have been given, I do not want excuses. I am a manager at a call centre in CPT and I do not need bull**** stories flying.

O and on the side, I am goign to buy a phone at the end of the month.... am I going to have the same **** problems with your customer service then?

Thanks,

Michael J.

So I had data on my number before I did my sim swop and never got that back. I had to use my own money to go buy me more data to make sure I could be connected. Thank you for the inconveniences you have caused. Do I really want to continue with Vodacom that is the question because this is the second time that this has occurred. Not giving my data back after the sim was activated and the associates advised the data will be retrieved.
