My Vodacom Fibre Experience: Worst Experience Ever

I am writing this review to share my deeply disappointing and frustrating experience with Vodacom Fibre, in the hope that it helps others make an informed decision before signing up. My journey with Vodacom Fibre began with high expectations in February 2025, but has since been marred by poor service delivery, unresolved technical issues, repeated billing errors, and a complete lack of accountability.

Timeline of Issues 1. Initial Subscription and Expectations App****: February 21, 2025, for a 1000Mbps fibre line.

Reason: I needed reliable, high-speed internet for a special event planned for July 12th - an event that was extremely important to me and required months of preparation.

2. Service Requests (SRs) Raised and Unresolved Between April 1st and July 14th, I raised multiple service requests (SRs) due to persistent internet speed issues:

Service Request Number Date Raised Status Outcome SR*** May 17, 2025 Closed Unresolved SR*** May 17, 2025 Closed Unresolved SR*** July 1, 2025 Closed Unresolved SR*** June 24, 2025 Closed Unresolved SR*** June 13, 2025 Closed Unresolved SR*** April 1, 2025 Closed Unresolved SR*** June 13, 2025 Closed Unresolved SR*** July 7, 2025 Open Still unresolved Despite raising these tickets, my core issue - not receiving the promised internet speed - remained unresolved. Each time, the tickets were closed without my consent or a satisfactory solution.

Chronic Service Failures Speed and Connectivity April: Only about 10% of the promised speed (around 100Mbps instead of 1000Mbps).

May: Situation improved only in the last week, reaching about 80% of the promised speed.

June: Speeds fluctuated between 150-300Mbps, never reaching the full 1000Mbps.

July: On July 12th, my internet went down completely and remained unavailable through July 14th, despite yet another ticket being raised.

Impact on My Life Personal Loss: My special event, planned for months, was ruined due to Vodacom's failure to deliver the service I paid for.

Work Disruption: I had to make constant adjustments, including working from other locations, due to unreliable connectivity.

Financial Stress: My bank account was overdrawn due to Vodacom’s incorrect billing, forcing me to take out a loan to avoid penalties.

Billing and Contract Issues Incorrect Billing: Despite being promised a discounted rate of R399/month for the first six months, I was repeatedly billed the full price of R1,499.

Overcharges: On June 2nd, R3,197 was incorrectly deducted from my account.

No Apology or Compensation: Vodacom never apologized for these errors or the financial stress they caused.

Unfair Cancellation Policy: When I tried to cancel due to non-delivery, I was told I would have to pay over R36,000 in cancellation fees - even though Vodacom never delivered the contracted service.

Customer Support Experience Repeated Escalations: My issues were escalated multiple times, including to the "Expert Resolution Centre" from Vodacom CEO Office and even to ICASA (the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa).

No Resolution: Neither Vodacom nor ICASA managed to resolve my issue.

Lack of Communication: Promised follow-ups and management callbacks rarely happened. Tickets were closed without my agreement or a solution.

Emotional and Mental Toll Exhaustion: I spent countless hours on calls, emails, and follow-ups, with no end in sight.

Disappointment: The stress and frustration have taken a toll on my mental well-being.

Regret: I sincerely regret ever switching to Vodacom Fibre.

Final Thoughts and Warning Vodacom Fibre has failed me on every front - technical, financial, and customer service. They have shown no accountability, no empathy, and no willingness to make things right. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, do not sign up for Vodacom Fibre. My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I hope others can avoid the same fate.
