My Patience with Vodacom has Run Out

Judging from the poor reviews that Vodacom receives I'm not even sure that writing this review will be of any use. I have been with Vodacom for many years, but my patience with them has now run out. They offered me an upgrade on my contract in Jan on two of my phones and managed to deliver the phones within 24 hours. However, what was discussed and what was received were two different things so I opted to return the phones and cancel the upgrade. It then took them OVER 4 WEEKS to collect the phones. It's now the 8th of March and the contract has still not been cancelled. Every time I phone their customer care, which is a lot, I'm told that it will be done shortly. Today, when I phoned for the umpteenth time I was informed that this will only happen on the 1st of April. I really would now like to find another service provider that can offer proper service. 1 Star is too much for this company.

This is entirely not acceptable. These phones were delivered to me in January this year. It took you an amazing 24 hours to deliver the phones and an equally amazing 4-5 weeks to collect them after they were supp**** with the wrong contract details as discussed telephonically, even though you were informed within 24 hours that I would not be accepting them. You then informed me via about my 10th phone call that as soon as the phones were received back with you it wouldn't take longer than a week for the contract to be reversed so that I could visit one of your Vodacom outlets in person to sort out my upgrade.

You have now had the phones back with you for nearly four weeks and the above response is what I now receive from you. This morning I made about the twentieth phone call to be 100% assured that the contract had been reversed and that I could go into a Vodacom store and proceed with upgrading my contract. I took the afternoon off and drove from out of town to sort this out only to be told on my arrival that these phones have not been reversed.

I have been a loyal customer of Vodacom for many years, but the service I am now receiving is nothing short of appalling. You record your calls so why doesn't someone actually listen to the promises that I have been made. I cannot even put into words how appalled I am at the service I have received from Vodacom re this situation. The lies and false information that I have received just carry on and on. You do not deserve to be in the service industry and I will make very sure that others are not subjected to these sort of service levels. Just look at your record on Hello Peter. It's actually disgusting. I am leaving for overseas on the 24th of March so having this sorted out by the 31st of March is actually useless.

If anyone does read this, there are so many to read that it's probably unlikely, let this be a BIG WARNING not to deal with a company that provides this sort of service level.

The saga continues. Yesterday I get given yet another number to phone with regards to this upgrade cancellation and as the lady on the other end couldn't assist me she promised that her manager would phone me back before the close of business. Still waiting for that call. Then my wife does a sim swop and gets told not to put the new card in her phone for at least 4 hours. 16 hours later she puts the card in and it doesn't work. Upon phoning CUSTOMER CARE, which really needs to be changed to CUSTOMER DOESN'T CARE, she is informed that she needed to wait at least 24 hours and that the shops give out the incorrect information. Vodacom you are seriously a bit of a joke of an organisation. Let's see if there's any further response to my saga and if there's any response to my Facebook comments as well. There's a lot more to come if this doesn't get sorted out soon.

By the time I'm finished with Vodacom I think I might be able to publish a book about them. The latest sage is that I app**** for a sim swop two days ago and was informed by the agent in the Vodacom store that it would take 4 hours for the phone to be working properly again. Two days later and it still doesn't work, so I get hold of VODACOM CUSTOMER DOESN'T CARE and get told that the people at the Vodacom shop don't know what they talking about and I must wait 24 hours. Now two days later and phone still not working so another trip from out of town to the Vodacom store. The agent makes a phone call and then puts me on the line where I am told that my phone will be working 100% by the latest at 1.30 PM today. At 3.00 PM it's still not working so another call to VODACOM CUSTOMER DOESN'T CARE and they can't help me except to tell me that the phone number is still saying "OPEN" which means they haven't got it working yet. The service on a completely unrelated item to my first issue is exactly the same - appalling.
