my number

I have been using my vodacom number since from 1999 until now . on Friday evening some guy from vodacom called me and asked me if this was my number. I told him yes its been my number for the past 16 years. they said someone was trying to do a sim swap with my number but I must give them a four digit pin code so that they can block however is trying to ***** my number, Note: they didn't mention that they are going to block my number from me now. the next day my phone has no network I called vodacom and asked what was happening they told me that I need to get a new sim card call and make a sim swap . now I'm struggling to get my number they want me to R100 for my number . people can't get hold of me , now they are sending me from pillar to post , telling me that there is a red light in my number that shows that the number can't be used . I'm so frustrated and this is really inconviencing me . I WANT MY NUMBER BACK.<br>
