My Many Issues with Vodacom
1. I recently changed my contract towards the end of last month and since then have had nothing but issues Vodacom. I attempted to do the upgrade on their website but it did not process properly and was not successful, then I did it over the phone and was assured there would be no further issues. I even got the guy to repeat the exact contract to me about 3 times. 2. At the start of this month I was supposed to get 2gb anytime data + 2gb night owl data for R109 a month. This never happened, it seemed as though I was only given 2gb anytime data, which I used up thinking I was using night owl data. I then had to phone in once more to resolve the issue which took quite a long time. The end result being that I was told that my issue had been escalated and would be sorted out in 2 days which it was not. I was not even offered data in the meantime, which meant I had to top up again and again with either airtime advance or a data bundles, yet this was a Vodacom error and not mine. 3. Nov 5 I get an sms stating that my 2gb data bundle has been provisioned and is valid till 01/01/2020, so I go check my balances only to find a big fat zero where my 2gb should be. This is completely unacceptable service and has led to me having to top up more and more once again. 4. I have been contacted by Vodacom sales consultants 3 times during this period trying to offer me other deals as well, the 1st two ladies showed no real interest in what I had to say and where just trying to push their own agenda and were very rude towards me. I have worked for O2 and know there is a way you treat a customer over the phone and you should always listen to understand and not listen to respond as your sales consultants did. You got in big trouble if you did what the two of them did to me, as you supposed to treat the customer with respect. The 3rd person actually listened to me and I appreciated that but am really unhappy with my experience so far since doing my upgrade. I worked at O2 as a Customer Experience Advisor (CEA), so I know that there is a certain way you are supposed to treat your clients. 5. The people over the phone seemed to think I was on a 1gb a month deal for some strange reason while doing their sales pitch but I’m supposed to be on a 2gb + 2gb deal with anytime and night owl data, which really infuriated me more and the 2 ladies spoke way to fast as well, I know you get paid more for your calls being quicker but when your client struggles to fully understand you, you miss the point entirely. When I asked the one lady about the data I was supposed to be provisioned with on Nov 5, she told me I must dial 135 to activate it, which was not stated in the sms I received. So imagine how I felt that Vodacom actually expects me the client to activate my own data, after it was you them who have been making errors. 6. So on Friday I decided to go into a Vodacom shop to try sort this huge mess out, at least the person I spoke to there was actually helpful and told me I had been somehow put on the wrong contract, this is very unacceptable. 7. The account is under my mom’s name and an amount of R137.77 was taken off on Nov 8 from her Nedbank account, despite me still not getting the service I was promised at all. To me this is basically Vodacom *****ing money from us. 8. 11/11/2019 I phone Vodacom to try sort out this whole mess, I get passed around by consultants and one even put me back through the system, which was very rude of them, especially after I had got my mom to do a security check over the phone with them, so once again my time and effort is being wasted. I finally after many attempts get through to someone who actually helps me and doesn’t make an excuse. I request to speak to a manager and they get me one, where this service was to begin with is beyond me. I finally speak to manager and get Vodacom's email address for their admin department. I receive a phone call from a guy who showed no interest in what I the customer had to say and didn't even let me finish voicing all my issues. He even argued with me and had the nerve to say I was being rude and threatened to hangup on me. This was his tactic to try get off the phone, because he saw all the issues on my account no doubt. Vodacom have the worst customer service I have personally come across, they happy to take your money but the minute you actually have a serious issue, don't expect any decent help from them at all. I will not be recommending them to anyone in future and am, in the process of cancelling my contract and going with companies that actually care about their clients. I expect to be reimbursed for my money, time and effort being wasted by pretty much all Vodacom's consultants and I know they record all their calls, so they have evidence of just how poor my experience has been with them. So about 2 days ago after speaking with a team leader, I check my signal and notice I have none, I phone them once again only to find out that my line has been suspended, no one warned me of this even. The person tells me that they have escalated this issue to get it sorted within 24 hours but guess what, yet again more lies and false promises from Vodacom, I should rather sue this company for all the issues they have given me in less than a month, they breached our contract and have given me so much poor service and I've been with them for about 20 years now, so I am very unhappy with their unprofessional and almost non-existent service. How is it possible that they even got someone to phone me to sort out the issue but he was the rudest person I spoke to as well, he showed no sympathy or interest in my issues and even argued with me and called me rude. I have never come across such poor customer service in my life and this is why I will cancel my contract with Vodacom once they pay me back the money they owe me after such a fiasco they have put me through. They have wasted so much of my time, caused me stress, been rude to me, made false promises and still not resolved my issue.
