My first experience with Vodacom
I recently ended my contract with Cell C as I continuously had dropped calls and struggled with reception.
I visited the Cresta store for a contract, where staff were professional even though I was very difficult.
Paperwork is always a headache but after one or two visits all seemed to be well.
I filled in my work number of a job that I am starting at at a huge firm in June as I believe Vodacom can then reach me at work if needed for whatever purpose. Based on this work number Vodacom declined me as the number is apparently associated with *****. I am not associated with *****, but the number of this firm that employs thousands of people is.
My question is. What if a huge company like a bank or insurance agent in South Africa that employs thousands has one employee that has committed ***** and this employee has given the switchboard number as their contact at Vodacom.
Does that mean that Vodacom will never again give a contract to anyone who gives the switchboard number for that company as their reference or work number?
Vodacom has since started an investigation and a week later I am still without a contract even though I was told it will take a day or two.
Bad show Vodacom!
