MUST READ!!!!! **** ALART

I found out today that I'm subscribed to a R30p/d service for the last 4 months. I have tried the STOP ALL sms but it never picked up any subscription. What happens is when you use the "Play everyday" service you win free stuff like data or discounts etc that services is Free. Most of the time you win free music or games or something like that. The first week or so is free cause you won a "free" subscription but then after the free period elapses they renew your subscription without any notification or opt in process( Note as soon as you "win" the prize you are automatically subscribed there is no opt in question or explenation). You are then charged that amount every day or week etc and it doesnt show on anything except when you go look for it on the My Vodacom app or online once you've registered.

This is obviously a way of making money. I canceled it by spending about 1hour on the phone with an operator. I asked her about it and she says that almost ALL of the people who phone in regards to that had no idea they were ever subscribed. She says thousands of people call about this issue and her personal opinion( vodacom employee) was that it's ********* to **** people like that. I wont reveal her name to protect her identity.

I am very vigilant and also very experienced when it comes to android phones and technology and i was ****med so easily. Now Imagine how easy a pensioner or someone who isn't good with cellphones could lose thousands on this way. VOdacom is it really necessary to prey on people like this when data prices in SA are already 134% higher than other BRICS countries. I saw the **** early and stopped it but lots of other people are completely oblivious to the fact that they have to pay every month for some BS subscription. My gran has personally been ****med like this and luckily I realised it and stopped it but she was completely unaware of the money being lost and the fact that she barely sc****s by on a pension check makes things so much worse. Be vigilant people they will take your money without apologies

Reviewer Update

I don't want you to contact me I spent the whole morning talking with your operators and it has been resolved I have nothing left to say to you unless you want to reimburse me the money I lost and im guessing probably not. This review was just a warning to other people so they don't fall prey to the same ****
