Move to Afrihost, Vodacom Fibre service is HORRIBLE!!!!
So I phoned in on 2 February 2020 to cancel my fibre line. I was told that it will be sent to the cancellation department and I will be contacted. I had not been contacted for a week, so sent a message to them on twitter. I was told I will get a call, but instead only got an email with an attachment. I signed everything and sent back - I have STILL not received feedback for my line cancellation. I have sent MULTIPLE messages to vodacom, and I am being ignored.
Firstly, I took Month to month and paid a R1010 activation fee, now I need to pay for the router, which was said to be "Free". Sorry, but whats the point of month to month then? Sure, what ever, I landed up finding it hidden deep in the Ts&Cs that if you cancel before 12 months, you are liable for the remaining costs...again, month to month...whats the point ?
I think Vodacom does this with a lot of their clients, to try prolong the time they need to pay, Telkom does exactly the same thing.
My suggestion, dont use Vodacom for Fibre - I have a 20mb line and cant even stream properly - DSTV now either runs at what looks like 360p, or it buffers - Lets put this into context - When the news is on, it has the "eNCA" logo at the bottom left corner, I cant even read that! Thats how bad the quality is.
Move to Afrihost, they are cheaper and their service is ALWAYS impeccable! If you want to upgrade, you do it yourself online - With Vodacom, you need to phone in, send and email and then sign something(and all this after you get "assigned" to someone) - What a process to upgrade your line speed ?
Again, MOVE TO AFRIHOST! They are WAY better!
Thats if you can get Vodacom to cancel your fibre with them that is....
