Most useless network in SA.
My problems with Vodacom started back in August, below is a summary of the first events that panned out:
Quick summary of the events to date:
• 1 August – I noticed that a upgrade was processed on my line without my approval. A migration to a higher package was processed (Smart M to a Smart M+). • 2 August – I called the call centre who told me to write a letter and send it to ********** • 22 August – After receiving no response/reference to my mail, I went onto the Vodacom website to find I had to complete a form and submit to ********** I then sent another mail with the correct documentation. • 28 August – I received a SMS from Vodacom confirming that my upgrade had been reversed. • 10 September – I received my latest statement and invoice and the upgrade had not been reversed as advised. • 14 September – I sent a mail to ********** as per the process on the website if not resolution had been done after 14 days.
Further to the above, I was given a number for the ***** Disputes call centre ( ********** ), every time I call this number, they advise that the call centre is not available.
I then used my channels available to me, my Vodacom account manager (Yes, I head up cellular for a large organisation in SA). She escalated this matter to top management at Vodacom, who still took over a month to resolve (Tells you a lot about the organisation).
Finally on the 27th October someone in all their wisdom at Vodacom managed to resolve this query and credits were passed on my account for the previous 3 months. Due to the amount of the credit from the previous 3 months there was no amount due by myself on 1 November.
Now thinking that I have finally resolved this issue and can port from this useless network, how mistaken I was. I received my November statement and invoice and to my surprise, but not really considering what I have been through, Vodacom have now charged me a migration fee of R1450 for migrating my tariff back to the original tariff after THEY decided to upgrade/migrate without my permission.
Back to square one. So I phoned the call centre AGAIN on the 9th November, just to be advised that my query will be escalated again. (REF: 1- ********** ********** ). Now I have worked in this industry for 15 years and I know that there are notes made on the system each time a customer phones, so for the life of me, please explain how the migration fee query is going to take ANOTHER 14 days???
20th November, phoned the call centre AGAIN (8h10am). Firstly the lady I am speaking to does not allow me to speak, she just carries on talking while I am trying to explain the situation. I then get told to calm down, even after explaining what has happened on my account in the last 4 months (clearly she didn`t take the time to read the notes).
Now I know what is going to happen with my account, because this is how companies like Vodacom continue to make money and keep people on their base. The debit order will go off my account on 1 December, then amazingly the query will be resolved a few days later and a credit passed on my account, ensuring I have to stay with this USELESS organisation for another month!!
I am tried of phoning the call centre and getting the same result, just another *********** employee of a useless organisation that cannot make a decision even with all the information in front of them.
Best regards,
