Most frustrating process to get anything resolved!
On 15 Jan 2018 I app**** online for a contract and immediately received a system generated email confirming my inquiry with a reference number. The next day, as promised, I was called by Vodacom, but was informed that because the number in question was on pre-paid with CellC, I'd have to port the number first to pre-paid Vodacom at a Vodacom shop before the contract can be completed. This was done the following day and the number in question became active as a pre-paid Vodacom number on Saturday, 20 Jan 2018. I went back online to complete the deal I app**** for, only to find that it was no longer available. I called the Vodacom call center on Sunday 21 Jan 2018 to query this, only to be informed that they cannot assist me and that I will have to send an email explaining the situation to ********** To this day I have had no response to that email..... This is where my real frustration started. To call the Vodacom call center is a completely fruitless exercise - you can never speak to the same person (some people like to put the phone down, because they know you won't get hold of them again), you always have to explain to whole story to evry new person you talk to, only to find out that they can't help you, and that they will have to put you through to someone else, whom you'd have to explain from the start again, and so on, and so on.......a vicious cycle! Eventually, after even applying for another contract online in order for someone just to call me back, I received a call on Friday informing me that they cannot honor the contract deal I originally app**** for - this was done with such arrogance and sustain that it was dripping from the phone. Incredible! Even after I told the person that I will then go back to CellC because they can give a similar deal on the phone that I wanted, I was told in no uncertain terms " Then you must go to CellC!" Shocking! But that is not the worse of it. Today (29 Jan 2018) I decide that I'd then rather go back to CellC and take a contract with them - now I have to learn that Vodacom doesn't allow the number to be ported back to CellC for 3 months?! WTH! First Vodacom asks me to port the number, then the contract I app**** for is no longer available, refuses to accommodate me and then it refuses to port my number back to CellC???????? The number was on the Vodacom network for less than 10 days. How is this even possible that one can be held hostage by such an arrogance, by a company that is clearly not interested in helping me and ONLY wants to make money off me???? Wow, bad Vodacom, bad.....
