Money First, Customers Last

Just want to share my experience with Vodacom this week. My phone was ****** on Sunday, I tried to do a sim swap at a Cellucity store on Monday but was told my number does not exist on the system. This isn't possible as I am under contract with Vodacom and have been using this number for probably 10 years. Cellucity logged a technical call with Vodacom on my behalf on Monday and told me I would receive help in 2 to 24 hours. 24 hours later I called them and they had heard nothing from Vodacom. I then phoned Vodacom directly who after explaining my situation said that they could see my number under my moms ID number (the contract is in her name) but not on the system but they could perform a swim swap if I went and bought a sim card. I tried, but Cellucity could not sell one to me without registering. Then, after many work hours of running between work and Cellucity with no ability to call from a mobile, I managed to get Vodacom on the line to Cellucity while I was there so that they could perform the sim swap. Only then does the Vodacom lady realise that the fact that my sim isn't on the network that this could pose a problem so she logs a technical inquiry, just as Cellucity did, and said 2 to 24 hrs. It is now 48 hours after the second log and 72 after the first and I have still heard nothing. I have been trying to conduct business without any contact for nearly a week and it has been infuriating. Vodacom has treated this with zero urgency and complete lack of knowledge of what to do. This is just one of many issues I've had this year with what is clearly a service provider that will put it's image and money ahead of customer service. Absolutely ridiculous.

Thank you Lucian for your help.
The issue took nearly 2 weeks to resolve and I'm sad that I had to take to HelloPeter in order to get more urgent help but the fact that the matter was attended to and resolved is a plus and I was also given 2GB of data for the inconvienience. Thank you for that.
I hope that Vodacom continues to follow up timeously on matters.
