Money Deducted For A Service I Didn't Subscribe To
I opened my contract in April this year, the first number I had was someone else's old business line and I constantly got harrassing calls when I told them it isn't the person who had the number previously. In July they assigned a new number ***) to me and I noticed that my airtime was depleting VERY quickly at R7 a day. I live in Uganda so the phone is only for receiving calls as I have a local number here to make outgoing calls.

I found out who the company was and sent them an email in August for immediate deregistration, it was done a month later. On top of that, I contacted Vodacom and asked them to look into it.

I got a response from them as well as the other company stating that the line was registered in April 2014. I told them that I did not have this number then and I was immediately sent the WASPA clause and handled quite rudely by Vodacom. I asked Winstream what the case was and they said that it is not their responsibility and it could have been registered by someone who \had my phone".

Both companies are passing the buck and I think I should open a case against them and close my account as this is clearly a way to show how much they care about their clients."""
