Mistakenly Deactivated cell phone number
Mid Jan'16 I requested Vodacom Tygervalley branch to cancel my contract and convert to prepaid so I could port my number to Cell C. First I was told it would happen at the end of Jan, then when it didn't happen I was told it would take place 15 Feb. Then I was told it could only happen 29 Feb. On 1 March I confirmed with Vodacom that it was converted to prepaid. They confirmed. The port failed again. On enquiry at cell C they advised that the number was deleted. Vodacom denied this and said it was definitely prepaid and couldn't understand why it wouldn't port. Subsequently a call was logged 8 Mar. After multiple calls to follow up I was advised on the 14th Mar that the number had mistakenly been deactivated and Vodacom could not reactivate it and could therefore not be ported. Two months after I started this process I am fed up with the lack if service, bad attitude where the customer is at fault and never the company, big business arrogance and a general lack of accountability, acknowledgement of mistake and no apology in sight. The front line staff are not able to assis and basically shrug their shoulders and say their hands are tied. Vodacoms service leaves a lot to be desired
