MISSING DATA AND PATHETIC CUSTOMER CARE
On 13 August 2019 at 19h27 I received a sms from Vodacom stating "you have less than 49.0MB remaining of your Vodacom Data balance.." and a few seconds later another sms stating "you have less than 12.0MB remaining of your Vodacom Data balance.." and a few seconds later another sms "you have less than 5MB remaining of your Vodacom Data balance.." and at 19h28 another sms stating "your Vodacom Data on ..... has run out". THERE IS NO WAY THAT 49MB OF DATA CAN BE USED IN 1 MINUTE!
I attempted to contact them on 14 August 2019 and after going through all the voice prompts I was requested to communicate via Chatbot with Tobi. I do not want to communicate with a robot and went through the whole process again. I called Vodacom and eventually spoke to a call center agent.
When it became clear that he could not assist me, as he said he could not pick up whether I was on the internet during that 1 min in question, I requested him to provide me with a reference number and he indicated that he could not do so. I then requested to speak to a supervisor and was once again informed that it was not possible. He informed me that I could go to a Vodacom shop where they could ascertain where my data disappeared to. I informed the call centre agent that I had taped the conversation and he once again confirmed that he could not supply me with a reference number for my query/complaint
I do not have the time to waste to visit a Vodacom shop and am of the opinion that the Call Centre is there to assist me with these queries. This is not the first time that my data has just disappeared without an explanation.
It is unacceptable that customers cannot insist on a reference number in order for their query/complaint to be escalated for resolution
So once again a Vodacom customer must draw the short straw with missing data and pathetic customer care.
