Misrepresentation
I had two contracts with Vodacom which was about to expire one of which was a wifi router for data and the other was a cellphone contract for my daughter. I was and still is going through financial difficulties and wanted to cancel and contacted Vodacom customer care and was put through to the retention department. The consultant there tried to persuade me not to cancel and said that he might have another deal for me. Iended up canceling the data and keeping my daughter's contract for which I was going to pay less then R50 per month for data only and meaning that my daughter could keep her nr. This is what the consultant explained to me. This happened last year somewhere in October but to my surprise my account was debited for R510 that month end. I tried calling Vodacom customer service but no one could help me even after putting me through to the retention department. I kept calling from different vodacom numbers since I use MTN but still no one could help me. Everytime I would get a different consultant and I'd have to explain my story each and every time. I even asked for the recording of the conversation of when the deal was made and they promised to contact me when that was made available for me at my nearest Vodacom store but I'm still waiting for them to call. I've sent numerous emails with no response until I decided that I would reverse the debit order after they deducted R185 the next month which I could not understand and was really frustrated. After Its only when I reversed the money that's when Vodacom started calling me for their money and still each time I had to relate my story to each and every consultant who promised to escalate the matter to the relevant department but my problem is still not solved. Vodacom has since handed me over to their lawyers who said I should forward all the emails that u sent to Vodacom regarding this matter so that they could investigate and give me feedback which I did but still a different consultant from Vodacom VVM calls me almost everyday telling me that I have to pay and when I asked what happened to them investigating the matter they just responded that they were just told to collect the money. I am utterly disgusted and disappointed in how Vodacom has treated me and misrepresented themselves thus ******** me into taking another contract for which I never agreed to and now I'm suffering emotionally. I even went to their service centre but they could not help me.
