Misleading Vodacom customer sales upgrade 7 months earlier

I was called in October 2023 by Vodacom sales to let my know that I was selected as a discounted client ? to be able to purchase the new promotion on the Honour X5plus phone. Which was at a price of R135 per month for 34 months . I thought I could keep it as a spare phone as I did not know anything about this brand. The phone was delivered & I never activated it even opened the sealed case. I was never told that this would be an up grade bearing in mind my upgrade was only due in May 24 & why would I upgrade 8 months earlier with an inferior brand phone when I have always get up graded with an iPhone . Therefore I was mislead without being aware & only discovered the facts today when I actually visited the iphone store in Constantia Cape Town to do my upgrade. As when going go an upgrade other accessories are always needs to buy as in cover, screen protector & charger . Prior to this , after 7 month my contract was also change to top up data which I never authorised. My debit order process on the 1 May 24 and within 3 days I was informed I needed to top up my data .I called the customer care service & informed them that I was not on a top up contract and the month had just started how could my data be depleted. I had no choice but to buy data as the activation to go back to my original contract would only be done by 1 June 24 Needless to say while trying to upgrade today I discovered that the Honour x5 plus phone was know using the mini router which I used for extra data when I needed was now an air time router . I just disgusted with the misleading & as far as I am concerned changes on my contract without my consent … I now am waiting to find out if I am going to be penalised on misleading advertising of a new phone as I am sending this honour x5 plus back as it was never activated or used or the box opened. i have been with Vodacom for over 20 yrs & it seems the customer service is declining with every call made .
