MISLEADING VODACOM CLIENTS IN SIGNING UP

It is my responsibility to warn consumers what can go wrong when you do a online upgrade and Vodacom mislead you in signing up for upgrades.

My 5 gig data contract with number 076****8204 was due for an upgrade in February this year. I upgrade it with a new contract with number 076****6911 that includes the HP Laptop. I've was then told that I must phone in 3 weeks time to cancel the contract number ending with 8204. At that time I decided not to cancel the expired contract and keep it on a month to month to enable me to establish if I really need an extra 5 gig. Vodacom is welcome to have a look on the usages and they will find out that I hardly use the (old) 5 gig during the past months but at the end of the month I used it just to ensure that I do not loose the data. I also explained to the sales person that I do have uncapped data from Vodacom and I need the 5gig only when I am not near my fibreline In June/July this year if I'm not mistaken my cell phone 082****754 was due for an upgrade and I kept this contract on a month to month basis. In August I went online to do an upgrade on this phone only on the sim card because there was no need for a new cell phone device. Vodacom rep**** that an Agent will contact me and this is where all the problems started. A sales person phoned my and what I thought was his name Mondo or Mondeo I now realised it was from one of Vodacoms Direct Dealer probably another BEE company that Vodacom support. Still under the impression that I speak to "Mr Mondeo" I explained to the sales person that I would like to keep my number. According to me or that's what I thought happened my cell phone is now upgraded with a sim upgrading keeping my existing number. The sales person also notify me that if I would like to change my mind to upgrade for a new device then I can still do so before November. On Tuesday 5th when I try to cancel my 5gig on number ending 8204 I realised that Mondeo upgraded it to a 20gig data contract. I cannot recall that there was any discussion on 20gig. My cell phone is still not upgraded. Why will I in my right mind signed up for another 20gig data while I can hardly use all the 5gig data. With this misleading way of doing things I now sit with a unwanted 20gig data plus 5 gig plus uncapped fibre line data. I never contacted Mondeo online so who give Vodacom the right to involved another company to sign me up in a misleading way. I am a Vodacom client for so many years that I cannot even remember and as a result of the above they force me now to break away from them. I cannot trust Vodacom anymore and consumers out there take my advice and never do online deals with Vodacom. You will end up doing business with companies that is not your choice in thinking that it is Vodacom you dealing directly. The ref number for the call to try to solve this is 36494 dated 4 Nov 19. Vodacom can take note that if this unwanted 20gig contract is not cancelled immediately I will involved Legal Wise to handle this for me and any future deduction from my bank account will be seen as theft and a case will be opened.
