Misleading Retentions Department
I would like Vodacom to please send me a copy of a call I had with thier retention department in Nov 2024. The agent explained that as a 20 year client and such a good profile with Vodacom I am entitled to receive discounts and special offers when I upgrade and so. As I have discovered in the last week that is most definitely not the case, in fact the very opposite, deals being offered to me on two numbers have been higher than what is advertised for new customers. I actually had to beg to offered the deal on my main number and on my data line had to upgrade online to get a cheaper deal. The fact is that according to the consumer protection act the retention agent created a reasonable expectation of what I should be offered in future as a Vodacom client. But in fact he was being dishonest in order to get me to retain the line I wanted to cancel. Vodacom can also send me copies of the call I had with retentions on Thursday 23 Jan and it clearly indicates how dishonest the agent I spoke to in November 2024. I would like to send both to the NCC so they can make a ruling if the Vodacom agent was acting in accordance with the act and in a clear and transparent manner. I trust Vodacom will assist in this manner as the issue here is that as consumers we have to right to be provided with true information and not be deliberately mislead and Vodacom Retentions needs to stop this practice.
