Misleading replacement provided under insurance not matching original phone performance

I am lodging a formal complaint regarding an insurance replacement device that I believe is not equivalent to my insured handset. My original device was a Samsung Galaxy A25 5G. During the replacement process, I was offered a Samsung Galaxy A26 5G, which I declined at the time for personal reasons. I then requested a similar alternative within the approved insurance value. The consultant recommended an Honor X7d. However, I was not adequately informed that this device is not comparable in overall performance and specification to my original device. Based on the information provided at the time, I accepted the recommendation in good faith. After using the device, it became clear that it is not an equivalent replacement. The following morning, I contacted Vodacom Insurance, who advised me to contact the store. I then contacted the store telephonically to raise my concern. I was informed that no exchange would be permitted as the device had already been opened and used. I submit that: I expressly requested a similar or equivalent device, not a downgrade I was not provided with sufficient or accurate information to make an informed decision Had I been properly advised, I would have accepted the originally offered A26 In light of the above, I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed and that I be provided with a fair and equivalent replacement, in line with the intent of the insurance policy. I trust that this matter will be handled with the seriousness it deserves and look forward to a prompt resolution.
