Misleading pricing from agent for new contract

I had a 4G contract contract that I wanted cancel because it was at the end of contract.I phoned vodacom to cancel the contract. The contract was successfully cancelled.

On the very same call with Vodacom the agent said see I have another cell phone number which is due and asked if I wanted to upgrade that number. She said she can save me money by bringing down to R189 a month and I'll be getting R215 worth of airtime. I specifically asked if this was the only amount I would be paying(R189).

Just to find out this month that I'm paying R249. I phoned vodacom on the 10/09/24 to find out why I'm being paid more than what I was told. I was told by the Vodacom agent that they will do a investigation and I will receive a call back with in 24hours after they do the investigation.

24hours passed and I never received a call back. So I called Vodacom again enquiring what's going on. The agent then told me I am paying R249 because I am still paying off my old handset + R189 for my new contract.I told then I want to reverse my contract.

This really upset me because I specifically asked the day I took out the contract with agent if R189 was the only amount I would be paying in total. Vodacom **** to me and I am ready to cancel All 4 my contacts with them . I will even take this to the ombudsman.

I've been a loyal customer with Vodacom for almost 20 years. I've never missed a payment ever and had countless contracts with them. And this is the type of service you get. Think it's time for a new network.

Worst of all they said they can't give out any references numbers for my calls because they never changed anything on my account. .So how must I refer back to my enquiries with them. This such a joke.
