Misleading information to clients in hope to make a sale

I recently was mislead by a consultant in Centurion Vodacom Office. I was long overdue on an upgrade for my contract. I decided to get a laptop on a contract, but before I did this I decided to go to the Vodacom store closest to me and consult if it is possible to transfer the R1150 airtime currently in my account. The gentleman said that it is indeed possible and that I will have till the end of the month to do that otherwise the airtime will be lost. I then did the upgrade at an incredible connection in the good faith and assurance that I will be able to transfer the airtime.

Today after numerous attempts at transferring the airtime, I had decided to call customer care, where I spoke to a lady and she said that it is impossible and that the gentleman at Centurion branch had mislead me.

This is unacceptable and I would like to know what Vodacom would do in this regard? This is a lot of airtime and if I had known that i would be losing it all at the end of the month prior to the upgrade I would have reconsidered the upgrade.
