MISLEADING INFORMATION AND DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICES

I received a call from Vodacom's call centre about a month ago. The agent spoke to me about a package which would be exactly the same as the one that I was on now, the only difference was that I was paying R1099-00 per month for three of our cell phone numbers and according to him, I could get that same package for R699-00. I thought that this was too good to be true, and I called my son to speak to him as well. He then assured my son on loudspeaker that nothing would change. Last weekend, my wife had a problem with her phone and because we still had 3 upgrades available on my account with Vodacom, we had not updraded these 3 numbers for at least 2 to 3 years. I went into a Vodacom store to get a new upgrade phone for my wife. The assistant in the store told me that I could not get any upgrades as we had taken 4 upgrades about a month ago. I told her that this was not possible and I had to go to the police station to get an affidavite that I had not taken the upgrades. On further investigation it looks like the call centre agent cancelled my existing contract with Vodacom and opened a totally new contract for me without explaining to me that this was what he was going to do, and also not advising me that I would loose my upgrades which was available on my existing contract.
