Misleading Contracts & Incorrect Billing

I have been a Vodacom customer for over six years. Four years ago, I signed up for a dual contract and was advised by the consultant assisting me that my monthly payment would be R300. Instead, I was billed R700, which later increased to R1,000.

When my upgrade became due last year, I signed up for another dual contract and was informed that my monthly payment would be R600. However, I am still being charged R1,000 per month, excluding insurance. I was told that I had migrated, which I did not, and I am currently paying for the new contract as well as one of the older phones.

This makes no sense. As this was a dual contract, why am I being charged for three devices instead of two? If two phones were originally taken out four years ago, how is it possible that one of these contracts has been extended until 2027?

Another ongoing issue is being billed for additional data bundles (“extra gigs”) that I never signed up for. Each time one bundle is cancelled, another is added to my account and reflected on my bill. I was advised by a consultant that this is part of my package and cannot be cancelled, which is simply not true.

I am extremely frustrated with the service I have received from Vodacom. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Vodacom to anyone.
