Misleading advertising re upgrades

Vodacom contacted me to advise that my daughter's phone is eligible for an upgrade. Her old phone was not in great shape so we immediately upgraded.

I have just received my monthly cellphone statement and there are two "handset installment" fees being charged. When I phone customer service they said: "oh yes, you must continue to pay for the old handset until the end of the original term ... ".

That is massively misleading. Why on earth call it an "upgrade" if all you are doing is charging me for both phones?
