MISLEADING ADVERTISING AMD FORCED CONTRACTS VODACOM!
Hi guys on 16th may I went into the blue route Incredible Connection store, saw a pretty decent deal 5gig data on a "24 month"contract deal plus a laptop and modem @ 279 per month. Anyways I had to make sure the deal was legit so went next door to the vodacom shop and inquired if they also had the same offer , but surprised to hear they dont and only do "36 month"contracts. Went back to Incredible Connection to find out if the deal is still available. The sales rep on the floor at the laptop says " yes it is as advertised" and that i can speak to the vodacom rep. She not available she on lunch, come back following day, not available most likely at toilet ,wait 30min. and leave. Went back again following day she not there ask manager to please call her as I do not want to come here the next day. he phones her and 20min. later she arrives, finally. I ask her about deal an she says " IT IS AVAILABLE BUT NOT ON 5GIG . ONLY ON 2 GIG PLAN FOR 24 MONTHS" I fill in the application and she gives me a copy , she will be in contact. She calls me the Friday morning everything sorted i must come in to collect the goods and sign contract. i get there Friday afternoon and she dangles the laptop etc. in front of my eyes smilingly , says " here the contract sir there are five places to sign start signing from back sir" I get to the 3rd signature and it say "36 MONTHS". I immediately don't sign and query the 36 months as I clearly and specifically stated to her when making doing the application "I do not want a 36month deal it must be the 24 month" she then has the NERVE to tell me that "sir you can always cancel on 24 months even if it is a 36 month contract". That made me furious as I now see that she clearly thinks me to be stupid as if this was my first contract ever , eish! I calmly tell her that I do know that but I am not willing to pay the balance of the contract should i sign for 36 months. i ask her what the settling amount would be and she says something in the region of R1800. eish! i ask her to please fix it and make it 24 months as advertised and explain to me . She agrees to sort it out with vodacom. She calls me later says vodacom agreed to cancel and sort the 24 month, I getting the the vetting sms"s etc. over the weekend. The Monday morning vodacom debits me for R151, I don't know what its for now more frustrated i go and cancel the debit. She calls me the later that morning and says "It is sorted for 24 moths but it is my choice if i still want it" I tell her that I wanted it but I am just fed up now I will rather just buy the laptop cash. She says "no problem" Two days later vodacom debits me FOR R4056.00!!. I have NOT received a LAPTOP! SIMCARD! MODEM! I send several emails no reply . I then proceed to the bank to reverse the debit. the following day i get through to vodacom and the lady on the line explains that I can force them to give me the advertised deal of 5 gig and arrange for the contract , I tell her that I have already reversed the debit , and she says if that's the case then I should not worry. Several calls and sms later from vodacom asking for their money and for me to honour my contract. QUESTION: WHAT CONTRACT! WHAT LAPTOP! WHAT MODEM! MISLEADING ADVERTISING! AS ON THE MONTH END THAT SAME POSTER WAS NEXT TO THAT SAME LAPTOP! *****S! THEY WONT GET A CENT FROM ME! LEGAL WISE CURRENTLY ON THE CASE . ANYONE WHO HAS HAD SAME EXPERIENCE PLEASE ADVISE AS I DON'T WANT THIS FOOLS THE GIVE ME A BAD CREDIT RECORD OR BLACKLIST ME. THANK YOU.
