misleading

I lost a phone yesterday and I called Vodacom to see if I am able to track or block the phone. I was advised that I need to call SAMSUNG and that I need to have an IEM Number of the phone so that they can help me. I then started to call home to see if they can find the box of the phone with the number that is going to be needed by SAMSUNG. It was taking time I then Called the number that Vodacom Sent me for Samsung to try to explain the situation and also find out since I can’t find the IEM Number is there anything they can do for me, to my surprise they didn’t need the IEM No the information given by the Vodacom consultant was incorrect and misleading, Had I not delayed in trying to find the IEM number my phone could have been tracked on time because I kept calling my phone during all this it was ringing but by the time I called Samsung it was now switched off hence Samsung couldn’t help me block the phone. I beyond frustrated and livid at Vodacom consultant that provided me with this solution and this was my first time losing a phone and I expected my service provider to be sure of the information they were giving me, to make matters worse during my panic moment the consultant asks me to do a customer survey whilst I am trying to locate my phone that has my important information in it I found that a bit disturbing, insensitive and absurd. I feel so let down with such an appalling service and advice I got from Vodacom. I expected Vodacom to master such issues as I am sure I am not the first customer to have encountered this and to be given misleading information such as this has left miserable with no confidence in my service provider of more than 20yrs. What makes matters worse is that I will be without a phone for a Long time.
