Mislead by Call Center Agent

I had about 6-7 calls from the Vodacom call center over a period of 2 weeks (at the most inconvenient times of the day, I must add) but never took the calls until 12 March since I was concerned there might be a problem with my account (and they are not backing off) hence they are desperately trying to get a hold of me. I cant recall the name of the agent , but he was very adamant that I can definitely save money on my current data (at that stage Vodacom and MTN was highly in the news because their data costs that was very expensive and they are looking into the fact to decrease the current cost of data usage) the agent told me I will be paying half of what I am currently paying for even more data, 10G data (I thought by myself that was excellent client service from Vodacom to phone all their loyal clients to benefit from this decrease in monthly installment). The agent was so pushy he might have mentioned that this will be a new 2 year contract but not that I will be paying R349 more per month, I currently pay less much than that, the agent misled me by telling me I will pay half of that for 10G instead of the 2G that I'm currently on. I really don't have the extra money to pay more, If Vodacom did a credit check they would have told him that I'm not good for any more expenses. I'm having trouble as is to cope every month, if I don't pay this new monthly installment Vodacom will hand me over and a vicious circle will start to black list me and make life so much more unbearable, I'm just trying to make the best I can at this stage to make ends meet and I thought if I can pay less for data it will at least be a step in the right direction to save some money monthly. I was still under the impression that I will be paying much less for my data and went to the closest Vodacom shop to assist me with the sim card (I'm not very up to date with all the new technology, and I think Vodacom takes advantage of that) and that is when the customer care lady in the shopping mall (who was eager to get rid of me in order to continue with what she was busy with on her phone) told me this is a complete new contract for 2 years and I will be paying R349 per month. I was knocked flat on the ground with this news. I phoned the customer care line ********** on Thursday 4th April but the agent wasn't very helpful (almost rude) at all, she basically said I cant cancel this new contract I must pay up, and there is nothing she or the rest of Vodacom can do about it. I've asked her to retrieve the recorded call, (which will take 72 hours according to her) just for my own sanity sake but up until now I haven't hear anything from Vodacom and the clock is ticking. This new contract is suppose to start the end of April. ALL I WANT IS MY CURRENT CONTRACT AS IS AND NOTHING ELSE BECAUSE THAT IS ALL I CAN REALLY AFFORD.
