misinformed information about the contract, no professionalism and no transparency
Good day,
I am not pleased with the contact I took with Vodacom.
The guy assisting me at Sandton Vodacom 4u, I guess he wanted a sale and mislead me. When I took the contract, he confirmed that I will be paying R502 for both phones for 24 months. Initially it was R450 or R399, then he added an amount to make R502, he said that’s for connection something like that, for which I didn’t have a problem with. When I was using the phone, all the calls were privatised. I thought it could be the settings on the phone, until I decided to change the sim card to another phone that’s when I realised it was the sim card. I had to go back a month later to get the sim card fixed. He didn’t even advise that I should come back to activate the sim card not to be privatised. When I went back to activated the lines not to be privatised, still the problem persisted. I had to call the outlet again for the same thing to be done again. On the same day, I added insurance on both phones that was in April, he didn’t advise on the terms and conditions, I didn’t receive any contract or any form of confirmation letter for insurance. I haven’t even received any monthly statement to date. My concern is the amount billed every month, in April I was billed R842.00, for which the guy did mention that the other amount it’s for administration or start-up fee, that was fine. In May I was billed the correct amount which was R502, then I went back towards end of May to enquire that I haven’t been billed for insurance, the lady activated it, then in June I was billed a ridiculous amount of R927.15, in July R806.15 (this amount reduced because I cancelled one insurance).
When I called Vodacom 4u outlet for clarity on Tuesday (03/07/2018), a white guy advised someone will call me during the day but I waited the whole day nothing till Wednesday. Then today, I called without fail even when calls were not answered, I patiently kept on calling. A guy finally answered and advised that they are unable to check, gave me the number for the accounts.
I called the accounts assisted by Zodwa, very helpful. She sent me a statement that I haven’t received since I have joined Vodacom, which included a tax amount which I wasn’t advised of. The consultant I was dealing with at the outlet (I don’t know his name), wasn’t transparent, when I took the contract, I wasn’t advised of the tax amount that will be included, hence I asked that R502 is the amount I will be paying for 24 months which includes connection what what, he agreed. Per my calculation, I should be paying around R650 at most, including insurance for one phone. This was a bad experience for me, considering it was my first time getting a phone contract. I am irritated, this is the worst experience ever, I will never recommend Vodacom to anyone. It’s not even that long but I have been experiencing problems ever since I got this contract in February. every time I must visit the outlet, I am not happy at all. I even had to pay excess when I claimed last month yet I wasn’t advised of the T’s & C’s or excess payable, nothing nada. I am extremely disappointed. I am still awaiting a cancelation quote, I had requested that an hour ago, a consultant from cancellations advised she will send but still waiting.
I cannot pay R800 or R900 for these phones pm, NEVER. I would like to cancel the contract, I thought it was going to be a smooth relationship, because I trust Vodacom it has been there for years and I’ve been using it as my service provider for years now, but look at me now, I’m paying more for what I didn’t sign up for. or rather misinformed.
My other contract number: **********
