Misalignment on product offerings
Hi. I'm gutted. This Black Friday I entered into a new contract, in addition to my 2 existing contracts. I later found out from the online consultant that Vodacom stores had a lower gaming special when I enquired. Unfortunately theirs was too high for my budget. What struck me was the fact that when she referred to store prices, she mentioned something cheaper, along the lines of R350. I couldn't believe it but I was adamant in going into this one as I wanted a tablet. Today I decided let me go to Campus Square. In the booklet at the store, I saw gaming consoles at lesser prices, R409 for a PS5. Unfortunately I was informed they were add-ons, that if I go into a contract or upgrade, I'd be eligible. I wasn't because I just got a contract, bank statements would apply etc. this time around. A long story. I was sent back to online which I did, enquired, I was curious. I also didn't qualify, because I'd be subjected to credit checks & their prices were higher but I also informed they might be lowered if I took out another contract. Too many contracts to enter for gaming? I can't use the latest one to add a PS5? Maybe I don't know how this works but I'm unhappy. The online lady shouldn't then planted a seed on Friday. I also feel there are conflicting messages here. It would be pointless for me to do this now, I'd pay an arm & a leg for just an add-on, let alone not qualify.
