minimal feedback, decisions taken without informing me as the customer

I have renewed my phone contract with Vodacom during September 2016.

The phone that was strongly recommended by the Vodacom Rep at the Gateway Customer Service branch was an LG X Cam, which is what I took.

During December 2016 the started to lose connectivity with the network, it would just show on the screen as "Emergency Calls Only". To rectify this I had to restart the device.

By the end of December 2016 the frequency of this problem increased drastically, up to 3 times a day.

I then Booked the phone in at the Vodacom Advanced Repair Centre on Zenith Drive, Umhlanga.

On the first occasion they said that the could not find any fault, and insisted that I take the phone back, but should the problem arise again then i should take screen shots and bring them with.

Problem occurred again, i took a number of screen shots (each time the problem occurred - approximately 10 times in the space of 1 week)

They re-booked the phone in to the advanced repair centre, at this stage I made it abundently clear that I want a new device (sealed in it box), and NOT any repair - this was noted in the Motivation done by the repair centre's Manager (Malcolm).

The was then received back by the repair centre in Umhlanga after about 1 week, at no time during this period was I consulted or contacted regarding the status of my phone.

Upon calling the repair centre I was informed by Malcolm that the phone has had it's PC Board replaced, i stated to Malcolm in writing via e-mail sent to ********** I stated that i do not accept this as a new phone and that i am very disappointed. This e-mail is availble to Vodacom upon request.

Malcolm then agreed with me that this was a repair, so he then was to resend it back to the advanced repair centre to inform then a new device is requested.

I don't believe that this was done, a few days i called to find out what the status was only to be informed that Malcolm was away on 2 weeks of leave.

I then spoke to Avinesh (I was told that he is the owner of the Voda repair centre in Umhlanga), he then agreed to resend the device with a motivation for a new handset, the device was sent, i received the following JOB NO. ********** 4.

I called the advanced repair centre on ********** on 10/02/2017 and spoke to a lady by the name of Thabo - she was extremely rude and lacked knowlegde of my case. When i insisted that she let me speak to a manager, she said that the manager was not on site (call was placed at 8:30), i asked to forward my details to a manager so that he/she may contact me, whilst still in mid sentence she abruptly disconnected the call on me.

This issue remains unresolved, and i am now without a phone for more than 3 weeks, mind you i am still paying vodacom my monthly bill which contains a portion for the handset!!!!!!!

Called ********** for feedback today (14/02/2017 @ 09.25am), was told that they are still awaiting feedback.

Clearly you have not been provided with credible information.

Please look into this urgently, i am without my handset for 5 weeks now.

If only I could give Vodacom "0" stars as a rating!!!
