Milking me dry and leaving me to die

So I engaged with Vodacom as my preferred service provided for the better part of 17 years. Gradually increasing my monthly package and as my career grew to the point where my average spend on a Red VIP package rips a whole in the pocket @ R5000 a month. Just in the last year I have spent more than R75k.

Never the less, I have been retrenched in August last year and as can be imagined encountered some financial difficulties and fell behind on my payment. My line was suspended and despite various discussions with the Vodacom “A” team there was no solution but to cough up the full arrears amount before they could connect me again.

Thankfully I managed to gain employment again, however given the back log on various other commitments I fell behind on my Vodacom account and once again was suspended.

I phoned the call center and explained my situation and advised that the current burden of keeping my account current and catching up on the arrears portion is not financially viable, I needed to make an arrangement that would keep my line active, pay the arrears…. I was referred to what I would call a “solutions specialist” Mr Ashwin Abrahams (Reference number ********** 1 (not sure if it is correct as I was advise the reference number is his name and the date) Mr Abrahams approach to my dilemma clearly highlighted a business model that milks their customers dry and provides no assistance when the needs some form of flexibility when there is clearly a need for it. I have proposed a number of options of which non was considered. The demand was clear pay up of stay disconnected. SO MUCH FOR LOYALTY!!!!

So the message is clear after 17 years of loyalty spending thousands of Rands, Vodacom have turned their back and I am left with no option but to seek an alternative service provided!!!!!
