I recently received a SMS from Vodacom stating that they were going to be increasing the price on my existing 24 month contract. Is it even legal to change the terms of a signed contract mid-way through? This sounds seriously *****. What's the point of locking yourself into a 24 month contract if the price can be changed unilaterally at any time by the supplier? <br> South Africa already pays some of the highest mobile telephony and data fees in the world, while it has one of the highest mobile phone uptake rates in the world. Economies of scale should mean that prices should be lowered. Something doesn't add up here.
