Massive use of Data

on 3 May between 4.43pm and 4.53pm I was charged around R3,150 for Data while using my phone as a Hot Spot. I immediately contacted Vodacom to find out how and why I was charged the amount. My reasoning was that if they can charge me, they must be able to tell me what they are charging for. The only thing that connects to my hotspot is my laptop on which all automatic updates is turned off.

Vodacom stated that someeone would get back to me within 48 working hours. I have been in touch with Vodacom no less than 10 times now and have still heard nothing from them. I keep getting told that the case has been escalated, the query is still pending and that someone will get back to me.

I have heard from other Vodacom users that the same is happening to them, even on Pay as you go and Top ups where the data is being used up in seconds. This led to a second request to Vodacom about my 3G router Data which is also being used up extremely quickly. Again, I'm not expecting much of a response here as am sure that Vodacom's customer is inundated with calls of this nature.

Please will someone get back to me ASAP.

Thanks.

Douglas Turvey

**********
