Massive Bill on 1st Month of Poorly explained Contract

Having lost my phone recently, and in a state of anxiety, I went in to Cellucity Melrose Arch to sort out a new one. In addition to replacing my phone, I signed up for a new line and a contract for my 11 year old son on advice of staff there. I was told that the contract had a maximum data use of 6 GB (3GB at night) - I wrote this down together with all other limites etc on all the other services I signed for. Not even 3 weeks into this contract I received an sms advising that excessive data usage on my son's account had rung up a bill of R7000+. I was not given or sent any documentation (not even a contract) which I was told would be sent to me. I think this really unfair (if not *******). I have tried calling the Vodacom Customer Service and Cellucity to resolve this matter and have been told that I signed a contract and am liable for this amount. They (cellucity) are also refusing to change the contract to a restricted one, so I am now at risk of this happening all the time. Having been a loyal customer and having had all my small business contracts with Vodacom for many years, I am now left feeling cheated and helpless. Is Vodacom allowed to behave in this manner ??
