Marketing Consent

Good day

I have 2 contracts with Vodacom but now and again I am getting calls from Companies calling on behalf of Vodacom trying to sell me data bundles and etc.

I called the Vodacom customer line and requested them to turn off my Martketing Consent so that I do not get call. The operator did not know what I was talking about. I was then transferred to Solutions Department and was told that they cannot stop the calls even though calls are from the Vodacom Sales Department.

It is my opinion that Vodacom is not aware of

The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act

The Consumer Protection Act

The Protection of Personal Information Act
