Manager has no clue

I upgraded my cellphone two days ago at the De Ville Durbanville Branch and Achmat (the manager) spent about 2 hours setting up the phone. However, they were unable to validate the new SIM card I needed. He told me I would lose connectivity on my old phone later and should insert the new SIM in the new phone and I would be in business. He then switched off the new phone. When I tried this later, it would not work as the setup would not go beyond email setup. I then visited him the next day at 9.00 and after struggling for a while, he told me he'd call me later as he was alone in the shop and likely to be busy. At about 14.00 I returned since there had been no call and had to wait about a half hour while he was busy with another customer. He then told me again that he was alone and that he had not yet sorted my new phone. He could have saved me a half hour of my time by simply informing me of this when I walked in. He then told me the phone had been working when I left the previous day. I reminded him that the phone had been switched off, so I could not confirm it had been working. I also reminded him that the SIM had not been validated. We eventually agreed that I would take the new phone to someone else to sort it out. I then visited Rolene at the Cobble Walk, Durbanville Vodacom office who sorted everything within a half hour, very professionally and with a smile. The Vodacom office at De Ville Centre are having staff problems (at this emotionally unintelligent level this is understandable) and the remaining staff are unable to provide a cohesive service to their customers. I cannot understand how a manager can try to make me, a customer, feel as though I'm wasting his time because he is alone in the shop. This is seriously unprofessional and needs to be addressed.
