LVodacom – Misrepresentation, CPA Breach & Harassment
Vodacom – Misrepresentation, CPA Breach & Harassment My Vodacom contract was due to end on 11 January 2026. On 10 December 2025, I contacted Vodacom to cancel/downgrade and was assured by consultant Mdeni that I would receive R288 airtime, a free handset and earphones, and that my daughter’s contract (ending April) would remain open at zero cost. I clearly stated that I am a pensioner and cannot afford high payments. On 15 December, I discovered that my contract had instead been upgraded, the handset was chargeable, and my daughter’s contract had been extended for three years—none of which I consented to. I immediately cancelled and refused delivery. Despite this, I have been harassed by delivery calls. Attempts to escalate were blocked, and my number was flagged without justification. This conduct constitutes misrepresentation and a breach of the Consumer Protection Act. I request urgent intervention from a senior Vodacom manager.
