Low grade upgrade!!! Vodacom

On 13 March 2017 we updgraded my wife's Vodacom contract.

The upgrade was supposed to be effective 1 April 2017.

Come 1 April 2017...our service has been suspended due to non-payment of the account.

After calling the call centre on 3 April we were informed that this was due to the debit order not being initiated by Vodacom on 1 April, a system error, and the service has been re-instated as the debit order was processed on 3 April.

A call was also logged with a supervisor (reference number 1-193822****7407)...no action was taken on this either.

On 5 April we are surprised by yet another message stating that the account has once again been suspended. Once again we phone the call centre only to be informed that the account has once again been locked due to non-payment on the account, yet the debit order has been processed???

After trying to get hold of the accounts department on numerous occasions, each time being informed that I would be called back...which never happened, we were still unable to get a solution.

No single call centre representative could give me an answer to what was giving rise to the account being suspended. Eventually on Thursday 6 April the service was re-instated...only to be de-activated again the next day.

Eventually I was informed that the service is being suspended due to a credit limit imposed on the account...at a balance of almost half of what the normal monthly bill was normally.

We were never informed of the implementation of the limit and I cannot understand how this was only picked up a after a week's worth of complaining.

Discussions with the store (Irene Vodashop) indicated that this has happened to multiple customers...why must a customer bear the pain for Vodacom's system issues.

The service received from the call centres was inconsistent and unhelpful!

Please ensure that call centre staff are adequately trained to assess a problem and provide the correct solution. Also please do away with the call back functionality as it does not work. It would also really help if a problem could be discussed and followed up on with the same individual. Everytime I asked whether this was possible I was informed to call ********** ...eventually I could not even get through on that number and just had to wait for a call back...

How does Vodacom compensate the customer for being on the receiving end of Vodacom's system issues?

So I was promised a callback to discuss the query and NOTHING has happened. This is exactly like dealing withe the Vodacom call centre. You are promised a call back...but unfortunately that is all it is. No action is taken from Vodacom's side.
