Lost Airtime and data bundles

today the 03rd February 2017 at about 8am I bought R110 airtime plus 1G data which costs R149, because i was in the office and i have WiFi i did not use my data and i never called no one, I left the office at 15H30 to my place, my phone battery was on 5% so i could not use it, immidiately when i arrived in my place i put it on charge and left it. 45 minutes later i check my whatsapp i cannot get through and when i check airtime as well it was gone. i am on contract and i have been on vodacom for a year now, i normally buy extra data and i would leave my phone overnight with data and no issues, suddenly now i have been told background applications which is strange all of a sudden now they taking my data but before it was not like that. Vodacom is robbing me and i feel there is more people that go through the same problem and are being cheated by vodacom. i am writing this and i am on the third cal to their customer service centre still no help but being transfered from one consultant to another, time wasting and they are costing me as i use my phone for both personal and business. Vodacom is not helping and at the moment i was told to check my applications, while checking i found ou that it was only Android OS consuning 250MB of my data under data usage and others ere below 15 MB that does not even add up to the total usage. I have been ****** and Vodacom are ****** I want my airtime, and data back or i am taking this matter up even to ombudsman.

Dear Client

The Data Team investigated the matter and assisted with a credit.

You can go to your PlayStore settings to change the way installed apps are updated. To save costs turn off Auto-Sync (Google Account) as well as Backup and Reset feature in Settings menu. To close background activity, hold the HOME button down. To see which apps used your data, go to Settings - Data Usage (change usage cycle to display a specific day).

Kind regards

Vodacom Consumer Website Team
