Losing money because sales person did not provide true information
On the 7th of June I went to Vodacom Horison View and chatted to Zane about doing an upgrade. I asked about the Iphone and he said I should rather stick with Android and we started talking about the Huawei P40 Pro. I was sceptical because I knew it did not come with Google Play Store. Zane and another youngster assured me that all apps will be available for download on an app called Findorra. I listed the apps which is very important to me like Absa, Discovery, etc. They confirmed that those apps will be available. I then upgraded the next day, the 8th. Discovery Health app is not available for download, Discovery Insure you can, but it does not work, which I only realised after numerous calls to Discovery and Tiger Wheel and Tyre. The result of this is that I'm losing over R500 per month because Discovery cannot track my driving. Then 2 days ago, the subscription on Eset Parental Control and Truecaller had to be renewed. Only to find out that the apps does not support in app purchases. I then brought that to the attention of Zane and he then said that the Discovery apps will only be available from the 11th of August. The Huawei rep says that he told them this during training, but Zane said he can't remember this. They are now refusing to cancel the contract or give me another phone because it's more than 14 days since the contract was signed. This is totally unacceptable as the phone was sold to me under false pretences and some of the issues only came to light 2 days ago. I have been a customer with Vodacom for many years and cannot believe that I have been sold a contract for 36 months where I'm losing so much money in the times we are currently in. Why when the sales person admitted to not informing me that the apps will only work from August, are they refusing to cancel my contract? This is breach of contract as I was **** to.
